Bio

Hi there! My name is Valentine (They/Them) (26). I am a local musician native to Minneapolis, MN. I front a Dream Pop band called Gill Weather! I'm briefly unemployed, but have worked as a music teacher, social media manager, nonprofit development associate, and (of course) a barista. I play guitar, write music, and sing. I've been writing songs seriously since around 2018, which is the same year I graduated from an arts high school. From there, I went on to study acting in a conservatory style program, but learned that I really hate the industry of acting overall (I don't like people having control over my bodily autonomy). I've been a gigging musician since 2022, and I am still working towards my dream of being a full-time musician.

Why Neocities?

I joined NeoCities because I am tired of algorithm-based social media. I loved meeting new online friends as a teenager through fandoms, coding my Tumblr Blog, and playing Club Penguin, Meez, and Zwinky. I really do miss the old internet and can't wait to participate in its revival!
